Questions Answered
Everything You
Need to Know.
What conditions do you treat?
We treat chronic back pain, neck pain, arthritis, sciatica, joint pain, nerve pain, migraines, muscle spasms, degenerative disc disease, sports injuries, and many other musculoskeletal conditions.
Will I need surgery?
Interventional Orthopedics and Sports Medicine emphasizes the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries and chronic pain conditions using non-surgical modalities. Those include trigger point injections, guided joint injections, nerve blocks and radiofrequency ablation, viscosupplementation, cortisone treatment for inflammation, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and stem cell therapy — treatments that aim to avoid the pain, disability, down time and risk associated with major surgery.
Are the procedures painful?
The vast majority of our patients indicate that the procedures are relatively painless. Most procedures are performed with a local anesthetic, which usually reduces the discomfort of the procedure. When appropriate, sedation is also provided.
How do you determine which treatment I need?
Your physician evaluates you and performs a physical exam, using advanced diagnostic tools such as x-ray, ultrasound and MRI as necessary to uncover any injuries that may be impeding your recovery and progress. If a treatment is indicated, your physician will discuss the steps involved in the procedure, the expected outcomes and potential risks, and then answer any remaining questions you have.
Will I also need Physical Therapy?
Your plan is built with the rest of the clinic. Our sports medicine physician works in conjunction with Physio Logic's Orthopedic Rehabilitation and Functional Medicine teams to create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs, with the goal of allowing you to stay as active as possible — the services here include physical therapy, chiropractic care and rehabilitation.
