Questions Answered
Everything You
Need to Know.
Can gut health affect my skin?
Gut health and skin health are closely connected, and digestive imbalances may contribute to inflammation and certain skin concerns.
Can hormones affect my skin?
Unbalanced hormones can result in breakouts — especially jawline or cystic acne, or a pimple right before or after your cycle. These skin issues can happen at different phases in life, whether it be puberty, after giving birth, or after going off of birth control. Stress plays a part too, and can worsen some cases of acne.
What functional tests may be recommended?
We don't guess, we test. Depending on your concerns that can mean checking vitamin and mineral levels, heavy metals and cholesterol, assessing hormone levels and inflammatory markers, identifying food reactions through an elimination diet or IgG and IgA testing, and gut testing that looks at good and bad bacteria, digestive markers, yeast overgrowth and absorption.
Is this approach only for people with acne?
No. The same root-cause approach applies to common skin conditions like acne, eczema, rosacea, psoriasis and dermatitis. The majority of skin conditions are triggered by just a handful of root causes, which is what we work to identify.
How is my treatment plan personalized?
Testing comes first. Once we can assess hormone levels, inflammatory markers and nutrient levels, we apply the proper next steps for you — an individualized nutrition program, herbal support chosen for your results, and lifestyle changes based on what your testing shows rather than a standard protocol.
